Dance Classes should always be pursued from an early age.  By enrolling your child in a dance class it would build up their kinesthetic intelligence and fosters self-expression and confidence. For some children, it is easily identifiable whether they have dancing bones in their genes. Parents will need to find out if dance is something that their kids will even enjoy. With so many different genres of dance to choose from, what are the popular types of dance classes for kids?

When you think about jazz, you might think of tapping and jiving to the beat of Broadway musicals and 40s club lounge music. Jazz dance encompasses many styles like tap, theatre and jitterbug. It’s a very exciting and lively genre of dance and kids can expect to have lots of fun.

Lots of physical movement for sure. There’s a lot of techniques that can also be found in Hip Hop such as learning to isolate specific parts of the body. Jazz is all about finding the passion from inside and radiating it out with excitement. It’s a happy form of dance so kids will be smiling for the majority of the routine

Jazz dancing is an ideal mode of self-expression that is beneficial to their physical form. All the pent-up feelings of anger, angst and sadness can be channelled into passionate, energetic dance moves. After all, Jazz music was invented to be rebellious and expressive. If your child wants to dance like Footloose, then this is the dance for them.
